What is the difference between basement waterproofing and crawl space encapsulation?
Basement waterproofing controls water intrusion and drainage in a basement or below-grade foundation. Crawl space encapsulation isolates a crawl space from ground moisture and outside air with a sealed vapor barrier and humidity control. The right solution depends on how your home is built and where the moisture is coming from.
How do I know if my basement needs waterproofing?
Common warning signs include water after rain, damp walls, staining, musty odors, high humidity, peeling paint or recurring moisture along the floor or wall edges. A free inspection shows how water is getting in and which approach makes sense.
What are signs of too much crawl space moisture?
Standing water, condensation, musty odors, visible mold, sagging or damp insulation, soft or rotting wood and high humidity inside the house all point to excess crawl space moisture.
